London Sogetsu Branch has now a new Venue – at the London Flower School in London. The first Workshop was held on 8th Sept 2018.
I feel very privileged to be asked to write a brief account of the day.
This Day was originally pre-organized for Mr Suga to Demonstrate/Workshop. Unfortunately, we lost Mr Suga in May due to the sudden turn of his health. Sadly, we were deprived of his presence.
The London Sogetsu Board decided to pay tribute to the memory of him by having the Workshop titled – Floral Tribute to the late Mr Shigeo Suga.
Twenty participants attended. Some knew him well and some did not know him. However, everyone had the same Ikebana spirit in which Mr Suga would have been proud of. Although he has left us, his spirit and legacy will live on, with many.
This venue was also the last place where Mr Suga had his last Demonstration in Feb 2018. After the completion of all the arrangements, it was a great revelation to hear each participant of their thoughts and spirit relating to memories of Mr Suga in creating their arrangements. Those who did not know Mr Suga did beautiful Autumnal displays.

Just a reminder that one TREE has been dedicated in Mr Suga’s Memory in — Grove Two at Marden Park Wood (Woodland Trust). You could pay a visit anytime – (please google for direction)
This was chosen because it is the nearest to where Mr Suga lived.
In Oct I have also arranged for an apple tree to be planted in PainsHill, Cobham, Surrey. Selfishly perhaps it would be easier for me to visit.
